Entry requirements
- German language at A2 or equivalent.
- Initial hospitality-sector experience.
- Strong motivation for an international hospitality career.
Assessment centre
Practical tests and interviews assess teamwork, communication, resilience, hand-eye coordination, organisation and motivation.
Selection process
German partner hotels interview candidates and may sign pre-agreements with successful applicants.
Stage 1 · Addis Ababa
A six-month introductory course in Addis Ababa covers German to B1, intercultural orientation, the dual vocational system, hospitality and culinary work, mathematics and occupational digital skills. Exact dates are awaiting approval.
Stage 2 · Germany
Paid apprenticeship in Germany combines practical hotel work and vocational school. Start date and location require confirmation.
Career options
Hospitality Specialist (FK Gastro)
Two-year vocational training with an optional third year.
Kitchen Specialist (FK Kuche)
Practically oriented two-year training supporting professional kitchen work, with an optional third year.
Fees and allowances
Stage 1 participant fees follow the Federal TVT fee structure. In Germany, hotels pay a monthly training allowance and no participant training fee is charged.
After graduation
Post-graduation and immigration wording requires legal and programme review before publication.
